Avedalogo

Everyone loves their Shampure and their Brilliant hairspray. Aveda is definitely more well known for certain products. Cult classics, if you will.

I, however, have a few favorites that I feel are some of Aveda’s unsung heroes. These hidden gems just don’t seem to get enough street-cred. I try to sing their praises to clients and friends, and I’ve definitely made many people believers. Here, I give you my 3 favorite Aveda products that you may have not even considered before.

1.) Tourmaline Charged Radiance Mask.

No matter what your skin type, this mask will improve your skin. It has a light, pillowy texture and doesn’t dry hard on the skin like a clay mask. Tourmaline is a refinining mineral, and a mineral that also reflects light. The result? Smooth, exfoliated skin that glows. As soon as you rinse it off, you see a dramatic improvement in the clarity and texture of your skin. It makes a night and day difference in the way your makeup goes on. I try to use this mask two times a week, and I can honestly say I notice it when I don’t.

2.) Blue Malva Color-Depositing Conditioner.

Nobody wants brassy hair. It’s just not a good look. Blondes, I’m looking at you!

Blue Malva conditioner is a rich, purple goldmine. Once or twice a week, swap this conditioner out with your every day go-to, and watch your color transform. The purple color of the conditioner neutralizes the yellow, gold, and orange tones in your hair. The result: a cooler, more neutral blonde.

This actually deposits a little bit of tone onto the hair, so you don’t want to use it every day. We don’t like yellow hair, but we also don’t like purple hair. Tip: I tend to mix Blue Malva with my regular conditioner and rarely use it on it’s own. This way I make sure not to overdo it.

3.) Light Elements Smoothing Fluid.

I know I’ve talked about this product before, but I have to sing its praises whenever afforded the opportunity. I love this stuff. Whether your hair is dry, coarse, fine, damaged, or perfectly healthy: this will improve the feel of your hair.

My hair is long and blonde: it has been exposed to bleach a time or two, and probably could have used a haircut last week. Two pumps of smoothing fluid in my damp hair before my blowdry makes my hair as soft and healthy looking as if I had gone ahead and gotten that haircut.

Thick, coarse-haired girls: a pump or two in your dry, styled hair smoothes those ends and tames the flyaways.

Anyone can benefit from using this in your damp hair before you style it. How much you’re using is the only variable. The result: manageable, soft, just-trimmed feeling hair. LOVE IT.
