In case you haven’t noticed while walking through Costco lately…the holidays and Christmas season are fast approaching! Although everyone does not recognize or celebrate the season in the same way, many of our family traditions involved the giving of gifts to loved ones.

I happen to be someone who likes to spread things out a bit. A few people have mistakenly labeled this “organized” – which it certainly is not. My goal is to start about 8 paychecks in advance and buy 1-2 things per paycheck. That way the expense does not sneak up on me and I can enjoy the season more.  In this world of technology, online shopping and e-gifting it can be easier than ever to accrue gifts early.

The gift card is a last resort for me…I would rather give someone less in cost, and more significant to the person. I also like wrapping…to the point that my reputation for wrapping is a thing in and of itself. Now I feel terrible if I don’t have time to wrap someone’s gift in a special way!

We do try to make gift cards special at Ashka, by wrapping them up in a box with a bow and a bag for you, so they are ready to go.  This year we will be offer a special bonus valued up to $10 to make that gift even more customized.
