ASHKA SALON & SPA’S 2nd ANNUAL “GIVE BACK WEEK” CHARITY EVENT
September 12-17, 2011
Almost $13, 000 was raised for Spencer and Bryton Pratt, brothers who are suffering with a tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF), which is a curable birth defect. This money will aid them in their great need for advanced medical treatment.

Ashka Salon & Spa held their 2nd Annual Give Back Week from September 12-17, 2011. We kicked off the event in June of 2011, asking Ashka’s own team members to suggest charities that were near and dear to their hearts. Including the Pratt Brother’s there was also Motts Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Children with Hairloss, Gleaner’s Community Food Bank and First Step which are all worthy causes. It was an exciting race, and the voting was promoted on our website and done by our guests, our team members, their friends and family, and supporters of these charities. There were over 11,000 votes cast to the various charities and they were coming in right up until the last minute. It was very close, but Spencer and Bryton Pratt were the clear winners! The response was overwhelming and we are grateful for all of the support we received online.
The money was raised in four different ways. We held a Silent Auction from August 8 – September 17 and our generous community partners donated several goods and services to go to the highest bidder. Every dollar went straight to The Pratt Family! The auction included assorted gift cards from local restaurants including Hayden’s, Red Olive, and Fleming’s Steak House. Also, front row tickets for the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings Legend’s Club tickets and tickets for a University of Michigan Football Game. Also included were Autographed Red Wings Memorabilia, gym memberships, Amazon.com gift certificates, personal training, handbags and jewelry.
Ashka’s Team Members donated their time to hose a Beauty-A-Thon during Give Back Week and offered Chair Massages for $20, Haircuts for $25, Pedicures for $30, Facials for $40 and Express Keratin Treatments for $50! 100% of the money raised went toward our goal.
